Community Counselling in Beckenham
Affordable, supported therapy at £25 per session
We offer a community counselling service designed to make therapy more accessible, with one-to-one sessions available at £25 per 50 minutes.
This service is delivered by carefully selected trainee counsellors in the advanced stages of professional training, working within a safe, ethical framework and supported by experienced qualified counsellors in our practice.

Many people choose to begin counselling with a trainee therapist. They often bring time, attentiveness and a strong commitment to helping clients feel heard, while being supported by experienced practitioners through regular supervision.
Is it safe to work with a trainee counsellor?
Yes. Our trainee counsellors are in the advanced stages of professional training and are working towards full qualification. They are carefully selected and work within recognised ethical and professional standards.
All trainee counsellors are supported through regular supervision by experienced qualified practitioners.
All trainee counsellors in the practice are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and are supported within a structured and professional environment.

Many people value the care, attentiveness and commitment trainee counsellors bring, alongside the support they receive behind the scenes.
If at any point you feel that you would prefer to work with a qualified counsellor instead, this can be discussed during your assessment.
Everyone begins with a free initial consultation with a qualified counsellor.
This is a relaxed, no-pressure session where we:
-
Talk about what has brought you to counselling
-
Explore what you might need from support
-
Answer any questions you may have
-
Help you decide whether counselling feels right
-
Match you with the most suitable counsellor for your needs.
There is no obligation to continue after this session.

Sessions with qualified counsellors

Work one-to-one with an experienced, qualified counsellor or psychotherapist.
Our qualified counselling and psychotherapy service offers a confidential and supportive space to explore whatever is happening in your life, at your own pace.
Our practitioners have different backgrounds, areas of experience and therapeutic training. Our work is predominantly person-centred, with some practitioners integrating other approaches into their work. You can find out more about each counsellor, their experience and the way they work on our Meet the Team page.
We work with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, low self-esteem, identity issues and significant life changes. You do not need to have a diagnosis or be in crisis to come to counselling.
Sessions are one-to-one and available in person at our Beckenham practice and online.
