A safe and supported service

Working with a trainee counsellor can feel like an important decision. Our approach ensures that you feel supported, respected and in safe hands throughout.

Our trainee counsellors:

  • Are completing professional counselling training

  • Are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

  • Work to recognised ethical and professional standards

  • Receive regular clinical supervision

  • Are supported by experienced qualified counsellors within the practice

Everyone begins with a free initial consultation with a qualified counsellor.

This is a relaxed, no-pressure session where we:

  • Talk about what has brought you to counselling

  • Explore what you might need from support

  • Answer any questions you may have

  • Help you decide whether counselling feels right

  • Match you with the most suitable counsellor

There is no obligation to continue after this session.

Sessions with qualified counsellors

What counselling with a trainee can offer

Reaching out for counselling can feel daunting. We aim to make the process calm, respectful and pressure-free.

Starting with the free assessment allows you to explore support at your own pace and decide what feels right for you.

If you’re considering counselling, we welcome you to get in touch.

Our practice also includes experienced qualified counsellors offering one-to-one therapy at their standard fees. Availability may be limited, but this can be discussed during your assessment if needed.

Some clients prefer to begin with a trainee counsellor and later move to a qualified therapist, while others continue with their trainee counsellor throughout their counselling journey.

Trainee counsellors often bring:

  • A strong commitment to helping people feel understood

  • Time, focus and attentiveness

  • Up-to-date training and reflective practice

  • A warm, collaborative approach

Combined with supervision and support from experienced practitioners, this creates a safe and effective therapeutic environment.
